A Mancunian by birth, Howard’s career in financial services began with an intermediary firm in Leicester and Nottingham before working for a specialist insurance broker and then with a large life assurance company in the London area.
Returning to Manchester in the 1980s to join Geoff Hunt (now Buckland Harvester Ltd’s life president) at investment intermediaries Chesham Hill, Howard started up Harvester Financial Services with Geoff in 1990. Taking in the 2005 merger with Bucklands to form the present day Buckland Harvester Ltd, this gives Howard unbroken service dealing with clients’ affairs from a Manchester base from 1986 to the present day.
Howard holds the Personal Financial Society Diploma award and also the special pension transfer advice qualification required by the Financial Services Authority. His role is primarily in building investment portfolios and creating pension strategies to meet clients’ changing needs, working closely with our accountant and solicitor connections.
Away from the working environment Howard likes to get away from it all on the fells of the Lake District but can also be found in the rather less tranquil surrounds of the City of Manchester stadium as a long time Manchester City season ticket holder or watching a rock gig at a local venue.
